Biography
Joanna Buckley
Joanna’s art practice involves sculpture, painting and site-specific installation with an interconnected relationship to nature and abstraction. Her emphasis is on transformation of environmental elements, materiality, space and light, with sensitivity to the viewer experience and context.
Buckley has exhibited at the Abbotsford Convent, the Chinese Museum Melbourne, Craft Victoria, Lorne Sculpture Biennale, the University of Melbourne, Artery Cooperative, Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Venice, the Apeejay College of Fine Arts (Jalandhar, India), Burning Man (Nevada, USA), Incinerator Gallery and ECNU Shanghai World Expo 2010, as well as numerous artist-run and community spaces. She has undertaken various commissions and is represented in private collections in Australia and Europe.
Joanna Buckley is an associate member of Artery Cooperative Ltd, Melbourne, Australia; and studio manager, artist, designer and producer with Robert Owen Fine Art Studio.
Joanna Buckley acknowledges the Kulin Nations and Larrakia people as sovereign custodians of the lands on which she lives and works and extends her respects to ancestors and Elders; past, present and emerging.
